Job description
Our technological development project aims to establish a novel approach for the characterization of lipid nanoparticles used as carriers for active pharmaceutical ingredients. In particular, the project focuses on assessing the composition of lipid nanoparticles using integrated microfluidic systems.
As part of this project, you will be responsible for proposing, designing, and experimentally validating microfluidic architectures dedicated to lipid nanoparticle characterization, in line with defined technical specifications.
Your work will build upon the team’s expertise in microfluidic flow control, system integration, and instrumentation, with the objective of progressively mastering the full characterization workflow.
We are seeking an R&D engineer or post-doctoral researcher with prior experience in microfluidics. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Design and CAD development of microfluidic architectures
- Experimental testing, optimization, and validation of microfluidic devices
- Setup and management of experimental benches, including hardware and software aspects
- Process validation and contribution to the development of an integrated and automated characterization platform
- Interface and collaboration with teams specialized in microfluidics, chemistry, biochemistry, and optics
- Preparation of technical reports and documentation; regular presentation of results to the project team and line management
Applicant Profile
Highly motivated to join a dynamic and multidisciplinary project in a state-of-the-art research environment, you have a solid background in microfluidics, physics, engineering, computer-aided design (CAD), and instrumentation, including Python programming, with a strong interest in hands-on experimental work.
Proven initial experience in microfluidics or Lab-on-Chip systems is required, while experience in the physico-chemical characterization of lipid nanoparticles would be considered an asset.
You are fluent in English and/or French and possess strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to regularly report and discuss your results with multidisciplinary project teams.
In line with the CEA’s commitment to the inclusion of people with disabilities, this position is open to all candidates. The CEA offers reasonable accommodations and/or flexible work arrangements to support the inclusion of employees with disabilities.
