General information
Organisation
The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) is a key player in research, development and innovation in four main areas :
• defence and security,
• nuclear energy (fission and fusion),
• technological research for industry,
• fundamental research in the physical sciences and life sciences.
Drawing on its widely acknowledged expertise, and thanks to its 16000 technicians, engineers, researchers and staff, the CEA actively participates in collaborative projects with a large number of academic and industrial partners.
The CEA is established in ten centers spread throughout France

Job description
Do you want your research to have a real impact on the energy transition? Then CEA-Liten is the ideal place for a post-doctoral position.
Our teams (1,000 people) are working with our industrial partners to develop the innovative solutions of tomorrow.
The purpose of our research is to generate technologies with a positive impact on both industry and society owing to jobs with meaning:
• Promoting the emergence of low-carbon energy and reducing resource consumption
• Guaranteeing Europe's technological and industrial sovereignty and strategic autonomy.
The aim of the Postdoc programme is to accelerate the emergence of new solutions to improve the operation of electric motorisation systems for vehicles. The challenge is to densify the various components (inverter and motor) to reduce their footprint in the vehicle and minimise their environmental impact.
The approach is deliberately multidisciplinary and focuses on 3 areas: the design of power inverters, the development of new materials in the field of electrical engineering and the numerical simulation of systems. You will be working in a cutting-edge scientific ecosystem (https://www.investingrenoblealpes.com/en/12-great-reasons-to-choose-grenoble-alpes/).
The aim of the proposed work is to structure a cross-disciplinary activity at the CEA by developing a digital simulation platform at the interface between 3 CEA teams (https://liten.cea.fr/cea-tech/liten/Documents/Postdoc-Carnot-EF/Ecosysteme.pdf).
This positioning will give your results a high profile and several opportunities for exploitation, particularly through publications and patents.
The vacancy is aimed at a PhD in electrical engineering, electrical engineering or power electronics with a good knowledge of electric motors and a good command of simulation tools (Matlab/Simulink, Altair/Flux).
The duration of the Post-Doc is 2 years.
