General information
Organisation
The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) is a key player in research, development and innovation in four main areas :
• defence and security,
• nuclear energy (fission and fusion),
• technological research for industry,
• fundamental research in the physical sciences and life sciences.
Drawing on its widely acknowledged expertise, and thanks to its 16000 technicians, engineers, researchers and staff, the CEA actively participates in collaborative projects with a large number of academic and industrial partners.
The CEA is established in ten centers spread throughout France

Postdoc – polymer materials chemistry - 24 months
Subject
Development of new recyclable and biosourced resins for lighter composites in batteries
Contract duration (months)
24 months
Job description
Does contributing to a new generation of more recyclable composites for batteries seem like an appealing outlook for you for the next two years?
Will you be up to the challenge? Develop a biosourced, foamed and recyclable thermoset resin based on reversible chemistry to be used in fibre reinforced composites for batteries.
During the post-doc, the scientist will have to screen chemicals and optimize a formulation to obtain an adequate thermoset resin complying with the requirements defined within the project, evaluate its mechanical and thermomechanical properties, develop a foaming method for this formulation and evaluate the foam properties. The second year will be dedicated to the use of the formulations to obtain fibre reinforced composites and optimize their properties. A final task will consist in using these formulations to obtain a composite prototype to be used in battery applications.
