General information
Organisation
The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) is a key player in research, development and innovation in four main areas :
• defence and security,
• nuclear energy (fission and fusion),
• technological research for industry,
• fundamental research in the physical sciences and life sciences.
Drawing on its widely acknowledged expertise, and thanks to its 16000 technicians, engineers, researchers and staff, the CEA actively participates in collaborative projects with a large number of academic and industrial partners.
The CEA is established in ten centers spread throughout France

Description de l'unité
The Laboratory « Innovative technologies for Detection and Diagnostics » (Li2D), part of the JOLIOT Institute, conducts pioneering research in diagnostics and detection, underpinned by recognized expertise in microbiology, immunology, genomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics, alongside high-resolution mass spectrometry. The ProGénoMix platform @Li2D is a state-of-the-art proteomics facility specializing in proteomics, proteogenomics, metaproteomics, and multi-omics. The platform is dedicated to advancing our understanding of complex biological systems, applying this knowledge to medical and environmental diagnostics, and offering cutting-edge proteomics methodologies to support the broader scientific community. A key focus of the platform is the development of mass spectrometry methodologies for the identification and characterization of pathogens (tandem mass spectrometry-based proteotyping, shotgun proteomics, targeted proteomics), as well as for the study of more complex samples, such as microbiota (metaproteomics). The platform is one of the six nodes of the INBS ProFI, network of excellence in proteomics in France. The platform currently runs six tandem mass spectrometers including Astral and Exploris systems.
